Community Acupuncture means that treatments are done in recliner chairs in a communal room. This is what makes our treatments affordable!! We can treat anything through Acupuncture points accessible from this position, even areas like the low back or neck. We also have a room with a massage table reserved for patients who may be unable to lie in a recliner.
For your first Acupuncture treatment we request that you fill out your online intake before you arrive. You should receive this in the confirmation email for your first appointment. If you prefer, you may also arrive about 15 minutes early to fill this out in our waiting room.
For your appointment we will sit with you for about 10 minutes and listen to your health issues and the reasons that you are seeking care.
From there you will proceed to the treatment space and get yourself ready for your treatment. This means silencing your phone, taking off your shoes and socks, rolling your pants up to your knees and your sleeves up to your elbows. We have bins next to every chair for you to put your things. Once you are comfortably reclined in your chair we will give you a personalized Acupuncture treatment. You will then rest with the needles for about 45 minutes.
We have quiet music playing in the background. Feel free to bring headphones to listen to your own device if you like. You may also want to bring a blanket or sheet to stay extra warm. We also have those on request if you need. Most patients either dose or drift off during this time. After about 45 minutes we will come and remove your points and your treatment will be over.
While you are at the clinic we may recommend an additional herbal supplement to help. We carry Chinese herbs, liniments, and supplements.
We ask that you refrain from wearing overly scented products and perfumes or smelling like smoke.
We have a 12 hour cancellation policy. No show or cancellations with less than 12 hours notice will be charged $45 for a new patient and $25 for a return patient.
