• Happy Spring  •

Spring is here. Finally! I love this time of year. Everything seems to be leafing out and blooming in with what will soon be a lush dense greenery. Flowers are popping up everywhere. It is so lovely here right now, my goodness! It also feels to me like all the potential good times of spring and summer are lined up before us. I can’t wait!

• Behind the Scenes  •

As many of you know, I now see patients at the clinic only 2 days a week; Mondays and Thursdays. Many of you have asked me “Are you in early retirement?”, or “What do you do with all your free time?” The answer to these questions is no, I am not in early retirement and I would love to tell you what I do with my time. Running a local business is a full time job in and of itself. I have been doing this as well as treating patients 4 days a week for over 17 years at The Peoples Acupuncture of Asheville. To be honest it can be overwhelming at times. In switching to 2 days a week clinical, I have been able to reduce my stress load and devote more of myself to running and directing the clinic. This has been a much needed move to better care for both the clinic and myself. So, what do I do behind the scenes? I do a lot of the typical stuff like spreadsheets, taxes, orders, meetings, and this newsletter. In short, I work on managing and refining our systems so that the clinic can run smoothly like it does. I take the feedback from you all and integrate it. I keep plenty busy just with all that. In addition to the baseline work of running a business, I am usually working on one or two extra projects for the clinic as well. I have spent the past few months searching for a new administrator to replace our beloved Leah who has moved on to new adventures of her own. Before she left, we interviewed 15 candidates for this position! I am confident I made the right choice by inviting Ashlie Kromis to join our team. Leah has done an incredible job training her. All of the social media posts, edits, and administrative work is now in the hands of Ashlie, who has already shown herself to be a much-valued addition to our team. We had an amazing clinic party to show our love for Leah and welcome in Ashlie.

• Welcome CJ Malmberg, L.Ac. •

CJ Malmberg is a licensed acupuncturist originally from Glen Gardner, New Jersey. His interest in acupuncture began when he was practicing martial arts, and used Acupuncture to treat his injuries. Growing up in a family that operated a martial arts supply store gave him an early foundation in movement, discipline, and the body’s natural resilience. CJ graduated from the Academy of Oriental Medicine at Austin (AOMA) in Austin, Texas. He believes this medicine should be accessible, and that the community acupuncture setting is one of the best ways to provide high-quality, affordable care to the wider community. When not in the clinic, CJ can be found exploring the mountains and trails around Asheville with his partner, working in the yard, cooking new recipes, or out at one of the many great restaurants in the area.

• Open 7 Days a Week •

With the addition of the our newest acupuncturist, CJ. We can finally get back to our regular schedule of being open 7 days a week! He will be at the clinic Saturdays from 9am- 2pm starting May 2nd.

• Note from Aimee •

For the past 3.5 years the clinic has been woman owned and woman run. This was not something I directly sought out to achieve but just kind of happened. It has been an absolute joy and privilege to experience an all-woman staff these past years. With the addition of CJ this will change. I know CJ will enhance our team even more and be an incredible asset to our wonderful clinic that I am so very proud of. With love and care, Aimee and the People’s Acupuncture
