• Clinic Update •
Our clinic team is feeling well settled into the summer season. We are excited to announce that the clinic is now open 6 days a week! Tara Bunch has extended her schedule to take on Wednesdays. She is now at the clinic Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. One thing that never changes is what an amazing practitioner, team member, and person Tara Bunch is.
CJ Malmberg, our Saturday practitioner, is proving to be a wonderful fit for the clinic. If you haven’t already, you should definitely get a treatment from him! He is an awesome person and practitioner available from 9-2 on Saturdays. Here’s a write up by him to get to know him a bit better.

Hi, I’m CJ, and I’m thrilled to be part of the team at People’s Acupuncture Asheville. My path to acupuncture has been anything but linear, and I’m grateful I get to practice it here in the beautiful in the Blue Ridge Mountains.
I first discovered the power of acupuncture through martial arts. From my teens through my early thirties, I trained hard and, like many dedicated practitioners, accumulated my share of bumps, bruises, and reality checks. Regular visits to the acupuncturist became essential—not just for physical recovery, but for overall balance and resilience. Those experiences planted the seed that would later grow into a real calling.
After becoming a licensed attorney in 2014, I practiced for about five years before realizing that, while the work was intellectually stimulating, it wasn’t where my heart was. I still practice law part-time, but my true passion now lies in supporting people’s mental and physical well-being more directly. Acupuncture allows me to help others heal in a way that feels meaningful and grounded—much like the gentle, peaceful energy of the place I now call home.
In early June, I married my wonderful wife, an acupuncturist in Hendersonville. We are currently renovating a 100-year-old home in Haw Creek that we hope to spend the rest of our lives in. Sharing this journey with her has been one of the greatest joys of my life. When I’m not working, studying, or trying my hand at some carpentry, you’ll likely find me enjoying the simple pleasures that keep me balanced: playing chess, hiking local trails, cooking new recipes, gaming, or happily playing the cheerful clown for my beloved. Travel has long been one of my great passions as well.
I’ve lived in several interesting places. I grew up on the mountainous side of New Jersey right along the Delaware River, then went on to live in Northeast Pennsylvania, Austin, Texas, Charlotte, North Carolina, and finally here in Asheville. I’ve visited over twenty different countries and consider myself a mountain lad through and through. The beach, desert, and plains are all beautiful, but I never feel quite at home there. Through my travels I’ve explored the Japanese Alps, the European Alps, the Sierras, Costa Rican volcanoes, the Rockies, the Scottish Highlands, and of course the Blue Ridge. You could say I’ve become something of a connoisseur of hills and dales. Yet nothing quite compares to the grounded, peaceful grace of the Blue Ridge. This region feels like home in a way I’ve never experienced before.
I’m honored to bring my background, energy, and genuine care to People’s Acupuncture Asheville. Whether you’re coming in for injury recovery, stress relief, or general wellness, I look forward to supporting your health and helping you feel your best.
Thank you for being part of our community—I can’t wait to see you in the treatment room!
